Elena Card

Front of Card

Inside of Card

This card is for the latest Tiddly Inks and Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenges.  I wanted to use this image because it reminds me of my little sister, Elena, who loves animals!  Technically her hair is really is straight but when she was younger it was often a little wild and messy...  Now that she is a teenager she spends waaaaay more time on her appearance!

I plan to enter this card into the following challenges:

tiddlyinks.blogspot.com-Our Pets
pixieduststudiopixiechallenge.blogspot.com -Fur or Feathers

I printed my image onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock (the best I have found so far for copic coloring) and colored it with my Copic Sketch Markers (Y11/13/15/18, E000/00/11/13/40/41/50/53/55/57, B00/12/14/16, and R20).  My magic colorless blender which helps cover my mistak....er smooth the background-is out of ink and the refill cartridge hasn't arrived yet.  Grrrrr-one of the difficulties of ordering online.  I cannot wait until technology advances enough to bring products to my door immediately after I order them!

I masked my image and used my Inkessentials blending tool to apply Sky Blue Colorbox ink to the entire front of the card for the sky.  I used some clouds and a sun (also colored with copics) from a Hero Arts set-popping all three up and adding some crystal stickles to the clouds.  Yeah...I know-I use stickles almost as often as I distess!  I cut two strips of green cardstock and cut the top to make grass.  I distressed the edges of the grass-cutting a few blades for the sake of realism and layered both strips to my card.  I stamped the sentiment Life is brighter with you in it and a little shooting star (both from Hero Arts).  I colored the star with a Blue spica pen-though it is a little hard to see in the photo!
