Leilani Card

This is one of the first digital images I ever purchased-It's Leilani from Michelle Perkett's Etsy shop.  You can find it here.  Not only did I think she was adorable-cause she is-but I thought she would make the perfect accent to a scrapbook page about our recent trip to Hawaii.  I have to admit that particular page is...uh still...uh... in process.  For some odd reason, I have been spending an awful lot of crafting time on cards lately!

I started with some coordinating patterned papers from Fancy Pants Designs (Rusted Sun).  I love the bold but slightly muted colors and I knew they would be perfect with the Leilani image for a summer card.  I colored Leilani with my Copic Sketch Markers (E57/55/53/18/17/13/11/000, YG23/25, Y13, YR15, R29 and BG45) matching the colors of the patterned paper as best I could.  I then cut down my patterned paper and cardstock-playing with the arrangement to match the sketch until I liked the combination.  I then cut a scalloped circle from green cardstock using my nestibilities in my Quickutz Revolution.  I cut out my digital image and then proceeded to ink and distress each layer before adhering it to the base.  I added a bit of jute and used foam adhesive to pop-up the scalloped circle and the image (see below).   And finally, I added a homemade-Lei of flowers and the top right corner to finish the card off!
